In 1995 cable television's History Channel produced and aired a 70 minute 50th anniversary documentary about the atomic bomb during World War II titled "Rain of Ruin - Development and Delivery of the Atomic Bombs".  Following are two clips from it regarding the use of the reversible pitch Curtiss Electric propellers.

Clip 2 shows Bockscar, the B-29 that delivered the 2nd atop bomb to Japan, backing up to load the bomb powered only by the propellers, something only a hand full of aircraft in the would could do at the time. (28 seconds.)
