Kirt's Draft Registration card found on an internet genealogy site which collects old government records.

The date of registration is not show however his age at the time suggests that this was filled out after his birthday on Sept 1, 1940.
On September 16, 1940, the United States instituted the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, which required all men between the ages of 21 and 45 to register for the draft. This was the first peacetime draft in United States' history.

The Curtiss Wright Corp. stamp suggests that the registration was done with the help of his employer.  Kirt, while he  registered as required, was never drafted into the military due to his war critical position with the company.  Curtiss Wright regularly updated his deferment during the war.

Most of the handwriting and the signature are clearly Kirt's however the Serial Number and Order Number aren't.
