Kirt and Betty's rented home at the corner of Greenbrook Rd.
and Woodland Ave. in North Caldwell, NJ. from 1942 to 1949.
While the house was on only a small lot, perhaps 1/4 to 1/2 acre, the area was rural and
the nearest neighbor was perhaps 1/4 mile away.

The following drawings in Betty's handwriting and style were recently found among letters written to Kirt's parents in Seattle.  Apparently Betty sent the Seattle Hines drawings of the new Hine residence in North Caldwell, NJ which she named "Hine Acres".  The drawings were likely made shortly after moving into the Greenbrook Rd. house.
