Also around 1918 and possibly while still living in Mt. Vernon.

Photos taken at a 1930's logging camp found among Kirt's effects  after his death.  It's hard to tell for sure but Kirt may be seated at the left on the log in the upper-right photo. With sister Ruth in 1935.

This 1935 photo, found on the Star Class sailboat internet website in 2003, was taken at
the same time as a similar, but slightly different, one found among Kirt's effects after his death.

Photos of Kirt's living quarters, probably during his Junior or Senior year at Yale in Timothy Dwight
College (an upper classman's residents hall).  Several students shared a suite containing a living
room and individual bedrooms.  In the left photo the poster above the sofa reads "The new Yakima
gateway to  Rainier National Park".  On the desk in Kirt's bedroom room (right photo) is a pipe.  I
don't recall my father ever smoking a pipe though he was a cigarette smoker for as long as I can
remember.  Perhaps he smoked a pipe during his college years.   On the shelf in the upper right of
the right hand photo is a portrait of Gina Bowden.
